I USE HAWAIIAN MEASURES AND I ALWAYS WILL.

Onshore small surf !!

Another day of not rideable junky small surf on the North Shore, but
an extra-large West, Northwest swell, could possibly reach 20 feet
tonight into tomorrow.
The wind is not supposed to be favorable coming from West, Northwest and conditions should not be good.
The Quiksilver In Memory of Eddie Aikau big wave event contest organizers are watching the development of
this swell and couple more large swells this coming week for the possible contest happening.
Contest director George Downing at 3 pm today explained:
"Firstly, I don't think the waves will get that big, and secondly, the winds don't look favorable.
The swell won't show until late tonight into early morning and then it still takes roughly 12 to 13 hours for the swell to reach us from the time it first shows up on the buoy. So, even if there were good conditions, we would only have half a day to work with.
At this point, the chances are 60/40 that it's NOT going to happen. But, of course, I hope I'm wrong.
We are ready to go. We have until February 29th and it's shaping up to be a late season, so we still have plenty of time."

The International Bodyboarding Association (IBA) World Super Tour (WST) final event:
The U$ 20,000 Rockstar Games Pipeline Pro, presented by T-Mobile and Mike Stewart Science
was postponed one more day and they should start to pray for smaller surf for Pipeline once there is five more days of waiting period for two more days of contest and this all week surf is supposedly to be huge.

Aloha Claudia,

Best wishes to you. Keep up the great
work with the website. It's real useful
for me in maintaining a database of
surf observations.
