Finally glassy surf !!
Surf was 4 to 6 feet early today,
pretty glassy in the morning with no winds.
Around noon, light Northeast winds
started to blow, but it never really damage the conditions.
In the afternoon, the swell dropped
and the winds calmed down again.
It was one of the glassiest days
in the past weeks, no kidding...
There are two new large swells
expected to hit Hawaii:
one is hitting already the buoy
51001
and
it should start to show tomorrow
morning building into Monday.
This swell will gradually lower
Tuesday through Thursday
with heights expected to remain
above advisory levels of 15 feet.
Another Northwest swell is expected
on Friday with surf above advisory levels.
Have a good holiday weekend !!!

HAWAIIAN THOUGHTS:
"The climatological average
based on 1968-2002
for the first double overhead swell
on North Shores for the new season is September 17th (+/- 9 days).
For high surf levels (15 feet face),
the average is September 29th (+/- 12 days).
The first Waimea day (25+ face)
averages to November 11th (+/- 28 days)(Pat Caldwell)."
"No matter how we choose
to go into the water,
whether it is surfing big waves,
surfing small waves, sailing, canoeing or swimming.
It is important that we can enjoy
ourselves and find peace(Clyde Aikau)."
