New swell, same strong tradewinds.

Another Northwest swell builded up last night into this morning reaching its peaks this afternoon with
15 to 20 feet surf in certain spots.
Still not so good conditions with the strong tradewinds but,
at least gorgeous sunny skies.
The  $75,000 Monster Energy Pro at Pipeline, presented by Billabong,
an Association of Surfing Professionals (A.S.P.) 4 star World Qualifying Series (WQS) event,
had their debut day today, with the two first rounds of competition in heats of 6 men battling challenging conditions.
San Clemente's Greg Long, who yesterday survived a tiger shark attack here at Rocky Point,
was still shaking on the inside today and was one of the early elimination.
"The attack came from out of nowhere.
It came straight up from underneath and sent me flying.
I saw the fin and started swimming away from it,
kicking my feet, and kind of grazed it with my feet.
Then, I just scratched for the beach.
When I got to shore I saw the damage it had done to my board.
I patted myself down, no injuries, and just counted my blessings."(Jodi Young/contest press release)
There are three more days of competition and tomorrow it should continuous surfing/conditions permitting.
