I USE HAWAIIAN MEASURES AND I ALWAYS WILL
(Hawaiian measures are half of the actual faces of the waves)

Friday 02/20/04

Again, awesome surf !!

A high surf advisory remain in effect
for North and West face shores of all the hawaiian islands.

Awesome surf and weather again today on the North Shore.
8 to 12 feet, glassy conditions with light to moderate East winds and beautiful sunny skies.
The conditions were a bit more dangerous today at Pipeline,
there was a doubling up session towards the shoulder, which would sometimes closed out the barrel.
It seemed like two swells were coming in together,
sometimes West, another times more Northerly direction.
The $75,000 Hansen's Energy Pro, presented by Billabong,
a 4 stars Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Qualifying Series (WQS) event
at the Banzai Pipeline second day had lots of good waves and some high performances.
Best performances of the day go to hawaiians:
Marcus Hickman, best top two waves score yesterday: 18.17 and again today, 16.44
along with Pancho Sullivan, 17.34.
One more day and a half of contest to go,
it should continuous tomorrow and Sunday surfing permitting.
Stay tune for full results and happenings.

Pipeline is holding the best, big two days surf conditions of the all season
.

Takayuki Wakita, Japan, perfect 10 yesterday,
got couple of good waves today and advanced in second behind Pancho Sullivan

Marcus Hickman, Hawaii, best score of the event yesterday and second best today

Some outside reef sets hit the shores with full potential

Lots of gnarly wipe outs

Meanwhile, Sunset had some good bombs as well
.

Aloha
&
Mahalo for surfing my site ;)

Aloha Claudia,

Best wishes to you. Keep up the great
work with the website. It's real useful
for me in maintaining a database of
surf observations.

"No matter how we choose to go into the water,
whether it is surfing big waves, surfing small waves, sailing, canoeing or swimming.
It is important that we can enjoy ourselves and find peace(Clyde Aikau)."
