Women ruled Pipeline these past couple of days.

For about 16 years, women bodyboarding have been proving that girls can definitely charge at Pipeline and
today for the first time ever women surfing had their chance
to show the world that they can surf out there as well.
Congratulations to Banzai Betty Deppolito for putting up an awesome contest to women surfing at Pipeline,
no matter what you ride...

The event was a complete success (and very lucky).
Before so much bad weather and huge surf with onshore conditions expected for the next several days,
we had two days of, not big surf, but just good enough to hold the contest and have everybody stoke.
Yesterday, Friday, the first day, very nice sunny day with small waves in the morning on the 4 to 6 feet range (all faces)
picking up from North direction to about 10 to 12 feet in the afternoon with gnarly conditions and strong tradewinds.
Today, it started good with 8 to 10 feet faces, light winds but, dropping throughout the day with raining morning and
heavy overcast skies all day of competition.
Congratulations to all: competitors, organizers, volunteer and anybody that showed up to support.
