The girls who took Pipe !!!


The 14th Annual World Championship of Women's Bodyboarders
finished today with some good 4 to 8 feet waves.
The day started very overcast and the first couple of heats had
 no wind glassy conditions.
Around 9 am with my heat(4th) going out the onshore winds started to blow and
we all though it was all over.
What would be a very fun day surfing Pipe with friends was just about to become
a painful day surfing messy dangerous conditions. But, couple of heats later
the wind start to switch a bit more South and
the conditions started to get real good with off shore and clean sunny skies.
The larger sets became consistent and the surf turned up to be epic.
Current world champion Stephanie Pettersen, Australia,
top all the girls and took for the 6th time the event title and
the leading for the 2003 world rankings.
Neymara Carvalho, Brazil, surf awesomely the all event and finished 2th.
Karla Costa Taylor, Brazil, was 3rd and
Daniela Freitas after a two years break came back unstoppable and placed 4th.

Equal 5th were: Soraia Rocha, Brazil and Emilia da Silva, Australia.
Equal 7th were: Marina Taylor, Canaria Islands and Claudia Ferrari(me), Brazil.
