Surf is up !!
Aloha everyone !!
It wasn't as big as we all wanted
it to be, but at least it was the biggest swell
that came in on the North Shore
since the Spring time long gone.
There were some spots with 4 feet
waves, but mostly in the 2 to 3 feet range,
very glassy morning and light on
shore already blowing by 10 am.
It was fun to, really duck diving
and paddle to some real sets...
This North, Northwest swell should
drop to tomorrow and
the big expectations are for the
first big swell by late Sunday into Monday with tradewinds back.
It is just the beginning of it
and I am sooooo here...
For all of it.
V-Land
Sunset Point
Kammie's
Monster Mush
Rocky Point was fun and believe
it, NOT CROWDED
.
.
Pupukea was one of the best and
biggest spots today
Back Door
OTW has way to much sand, but maybe
after the next swell...
"The climatological average
based on 1968-2002
for the first double overhead swell
on North Shores for the new season is September 17th (+/- 9 days).
For high surf levels (15 feet face),
the average is September 29th (+/- 12 days).
The first Waimea day (25+ face)
averages to November 11th (+/- 28 days)(Pat Caldwell)."
"No matter how we choose
to go into the water,
whether it is surfing big waves,
surfing small waves, sailing, canoeing or swimming.
It is important that we can enjoy
ourselves and find peace(Clyde Aikau)."
