Thursday 10/02/03
Surf was smaller today, but picking up to tomorrow!!
Aloha everyone !!
Surf was smaller today, 3 to 5
range in the morning.
The waves were kind of picking,
not much walling.
It was pretty glassy with light
winds.
Late afternoon the swell seemed
getting bigger, but it was all blowing out with on shore.
After lunch time it poured rain
non stop for hours on the North Shore.
Surf along the North and Northwest
facing shores should be 10+ feet tomorrow through Saturday.
There are couple of new Northwest
swells on Hawaii's way, one for Sunday into Monday and
another one arriving Tuesday peaking
on Wednesday.
Both swells are expected to be
below advisory levels.
Tradewinds should be back by this
weekend.
Having fun yet??!!

"The climatological average
based on 1968-2002
for the first double overhead swell
on North Shores for the new season is September 17th (+/- 9 days).
For high surf levels (15 feet face),
the average is September 29th (+/- 12 days).
The first Waimea day (25+ face)
averages to November 11th (+/- 28 days)(Pat Caldwell)."
"No matter how we choose
to go into the water,
whether it is surfing big waves,
surfing small waves, sailing, canoeing or swimming.
It is important that we can enjoy
ourselves and find peace(Clyde Aikau)."
