Surf's up !!

Aloha !!
Northwest swell with 12 feet waves today on the North Shore.
Light variable winds with not so glassy conditions.
Sunset was the best spot this morning with waves breaking on the horizon and
doubling up with huge barrel in the inside bowl.
It had the glassiest conditions as well.
Waimea had some 12+ feet waves, but it was a bit choppy.
Pipeline had too much sand, but it showed some good rides early in the morning.
Late afternoon the swell dropped a little and with the rain the conditions glassed off a bit.
Surf along the North and Northwest facing shores should be 10+ feet tomorrow.
A new Northwest swell for Sunday is on Hawaii's way.
Another swell on Monday and
again on Tuesday peaking on Wednesday.
All these new swells are expected to be below advisory levels of 15 feet.
Tradewinds should be back by Sunday.

"The climatological average based on 1968-2002
for the first double overhead swell on North Shores for the new season is September 17th (+/- 9 days).
For high surf levels (15 feet face), the average is September 29th (+/- 12 days).
The first Waimea day (25+ face) averages to November 11th (+/- 28 days)(Pat Caldwell)."
