Surf's up and awesome !!

Aloha everybody !!

Very good conditions today with pretty good size waves:
8 to 12 feet surf rolling in on the North Shore.
In the morning the swell direction seemed Northwest and the winds were light.
The buoys were up big time with 10 feet 20 seconds.
Everybody was expecting the surf to come up in the afternoon, but
instead of bigger waves you got cleaner conditions and surf was epic.
This swell should hold on to 6 to 8 feet tomorrow and
couple of new swell are expected on Monday and
again on Tuesday peaking on Wednesday.
All these swells are expected to be below advisory levels of 15 feet.
Tradewinds should be back by Sunday.

Ehukai at noon was huge and working.

 

"The climatological average based on 1968-2002
for the first double overhead swell on North Shores for the new season is September 17th (+/- 9 days).
For high surf levels (15 feet face), the average is September 29th (+/- 12 days).
The first Waimea day (25+ face) averages to November 11th (+/- 28 days)(Pat Caldwell)."
