Surf's up !!!

Aloha !!

Pretty good surf today on the North Shore,
4 to 6 feet, with nice sunny skies and strong tradewinds.
The direction seemed to be a mix of two swells: North and West, Northwest.
Another North, Northwest swell on the 6 to 8 feet range
should started to build late tomorrow into Saturday
lasting for the weekend.
A series of decent size swells are expected back to back into next week.
Don't forget this weekend is the 27th Menehune Surfing Championship at Ali'i Beach Park(Haleiwa),
the kids will score good waves...

"The climatological average based on 1968-2002
for the first double overhead swell on North Shores for the new season is September 17th (+/- 9 days).
For high surf levels (15 feet face), the average is September 29th (+/- 12 days).
The first Waimea day (25+ face) averages to November 11th (+/- 28 days)(Pat Caldwell)."
