4 to 6 feet surf !!!

Aloha !!

Surf was smaller today on the North Shore, 4 to 6 feet
still fully North swell direction with light variable winds,
clean very early in the morning, light onshore by 11 am and glassy again late afternoon.
Pretty sunny most of the day.
This North swell should decline tonight,
then another couple of new swells in the small to moderate range
should keep the surf pumping on the North side for the entire week.
A moderate to large Northwest swell may reach the Hawaiian islands next weekend.
A medium South swell is expected to hit the town side by the end of this week as well.

Sunset still had pretty good set, but not very consistent

"The climatological average based on 1968-2002
for the first double overhead swell on North Shores for the new season is September 17th (+/- 9 days).
For high surf levels (15 feet face), the average is September 29th (+/- 12 days).
The first Waimea day (25+ face) averages to November 11th (+/- 28 days)(Pat Caldwell)."
