The North swell is gone !!

Aloha everyone !!

Seemed like the North swell was pretty gone today,
surf on the North Shore was tiny on the 1 to 3 feet range.
Same weather and wind conditions:
glassy early morning, light variable (on shore) most of the day and
pretty clean again late afternoon.
Sunny in the morning and overcast skies in the afternoon.
Once the North swell is over the big expectation is for the large Northwest swell this weekend,
which could reach just the North Shore advisory levels, 10 to 12 feet (always hawaiian).
There are couple others North swells for next week as well.
With the big waves on the Winter time, comes the pro surfing contests:
the first of all is the 20th Annual Xcel Pro on October 28th at Sunset Beach followed by
the 21st Annual Triple Crown of Surfing starting November 12th
with the VANS Hawaiian Pro and Roxy Pro at Haleiwa Ali'i Beach Park.

"The climatological average based on 1968-2002
for the first double overhead swell on North Shores for the new season is September 17th (+/- 9 days).
For high surf levels (15 feet face), the average is September 29th (+/- 12 days).
The first Waimea day (25+ face) averages to November 11th (+/- 28 days)(Pat Caldwell)."
