A new small swell is just on the rise!!

Aloha everyone !!

We had a small, new West, Northwest swell, 2 to 4 feet today on the North Shore.
Southwesterly winds in the morning, North on the middle of the day and calm late afternoon.
Buoys are showing a medium swell with 8.5 feet, 13 seconds as 8pm.
Surf should be on the 4 to 6 feet range with larger sets in certain spots for tomorrow.
 The 20th Annual Xcel Pro Contest at Sunset Beach was postponed today.
It could possibly happen any day from now on
once the surfing forecasting is for a series of back to back swells this week
with a bigger swell this weekend.
The 21st Annual Triple Crown of Surfing starts November 12th
with the VANS Hawaiian Pro and Roxy Pro at Haleiwa Ali'i Beach Park.

"The climatological average based on 1968-2002
for the first double overhead swell on North Shores for the new season is September 17th (+/- 9 days).
For high surf levels (15 feet face), the average is September 29th (+/- 12 days).
The first Waimea day (25+ face) averages to November 11th (+/- 28 days)(Pat Caldwell)."
