Aloha !!
Halloween started pretty flat today
on the North Shore.
Just about a foot in certain spots
with nice tradewinds and sunny skies.
By late afternoon, the waves were
looking awesomely glassy with about 3 to 4 feet waves coming in.
The 20th Annual Xcel Pro
Contest at Sunset Beach was postponed again, but
it should start tomorrow once the
buoys are showing this solid new Northwest swell
which should last through the weekend.

"The climatological average
based on 1968-2002
for the first double overhead swell
on North Shores for the new season is September 17th (+/- 9 days).
For high surf levels (15 feet face),
the average is September 29th (+/- 12 days).
The first Waimea day (25+ face)
averages to November 11th (+/- 28 days)(Pat Caldwell)."
