Andy Irons, Joel Parkinson and Eddie Aikau !!

There was so much happening on the North Shore today.
To start, I better tell you about the surf conditions:
there was 6 to 8 feet waves with no so good winds most of the day,
but backing off a bit just to finish
the Rip Curl Cup at Sunset beach, the second leg of
the 20th Anniversary Vans Triple Crown of Surfing with good barrels and great performances.

Joel Parkinson, 21, Australia won the event and the US$30,000 prize money and
with today's victory took control of the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing ratings.

Andy Irons, 24, Hawaii is the new World champion.

The opening ceremony for the
Quiksilver In Memory of Eddie Aikau Big Wave Event
was a big event today at Waimea Bay Beach Park at 4pm.

The official holding period start on December 5, 2002
and it goes until February 28, 2003.
