Rip Curl didn't go at Pipeline today but,
Eddie probably will on Wednesday!!

Today the North Shore was hit by a large new North, Northwest swell, solid 10 to 12 feet,
with consistently larger sets breaking far on the outside reefs and
lots of close out waves on the sand bar on the shore.
This whole sand should be pretty much gone by tomorrow but, today there weren't that many rideable waves and
the Rip Curl Pipeline Master didn't go concerning the safety of the competitors.
It looks good to tomorrow with the swell dropping a bit.

This was a hour waiting wave and a broken board

The contest was on stand by from 8:00 to 11:30 am

A new XXXXX- large swell is expected to hit the islands by late at night on Tuesday into Wednesday.
Less than two weeks into the three month holding period for the 20th Anniversary Quiksilver In Memory of Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational, Contest Director George Downing has placed competitors and officials on stand-by for a Wednesday morning start.
