A HIGH SURF WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR
NORTHWEST, NORTH AND EAST FACING SHORES !!

High surf warnings means that the open ocean swell is up to 12 to 15+ feet.
It was big all right on the North Shore today but
the North winds and stormy conditions made the
Xbox Gerry Lopez Pipeline Master,
final event of the Triple Crown of Surfing and last event of the ASP world tour
to be postponed for one more day.
There are three more days of the waiting period and
a series of new swells expected for the next few days into the weekend.
This swell and bad winds should last through tomorrow changing to
a more Northerly direction swell by Friday but, maybe with better winds.

Waimea was pretty much the only rideable spot today.
Very messy in the morning and cleaner late afternoon.

TRIPLE CROWN OF SURFING RESULTS:

TRIPLE CROWN OF SURFING SCHEDULE:

The 21st Annual Triple Crown of Surfing officially started
November 12th through December 20th.
The first event was the VANS Hawaiian Pro and Roxy Pro at Haleiwa Ali'i Beach Park,
its waiting period was from November 12th through 23th.
The Rip Curl Pro at Sunset Beach's, second event,
waiting period was from November 24th through December 7th.
The Xbox Pipeline Masters is the world's longest running event (33 years),
most prestigious pro surfing competition in the world
and the finale of the $750,000 Vans Triple Crown of Surfing.
Its waiting period goes from December 8th until the 20th.

EDDIE AIKAU BIG WAVE EVENT:

The opening ceremony for the QUICKSILVER IN MEMORY OF EDDIE AIKAU BIG WAVE EVENT
 was December 4, 2003 at Waimea Bay beach park.
The holding period goes from December 5, 2003 to February 28, 2004.
The event will be held on one day when surf measures at least 20 feet (40 foot faces).

for the first double overhead swell on North Shores for the new season is September 17th (+/- 9 days).
For high surf levels (15 feet face), the average is September 29th (+/- 12 days).
The first Waimea day (25+ face) averages to November 11th (+/- 28 days)(Pat Caldwell)."
