It is official:
first swell of the season going off on the North Shore today!!!

Surf was up on the North Shore today.
It started slow with 2 to 4 feet waves (always hawaiian measurements) in the morning,
West, Northwest swell direction but
as the day progress the sets were coming bigger and bigger up to
a beautiful 8 feet late afternoon.
Very sunny day with strong tradewinds and a bit choppy conditions, also, murky water due to the sand
moving around and starting to get wash off the shores.
This North Shore swell should still solid tomorrow declining slowly through Wednesday.
A large South swell is expected in town beginning late Tuesday lasting through Saturday.
I heard some of the boys are heading to Teahupoo, Tahiti.
There is good surf everywhere !!! And, it is just the beginning of it...

Sunset was definitely the best spot due to not much sand around the outside reefs

Pipeline and OTW have way too much sand yet

But, it is starting to get clean up
