New North, Northwest swell rising on the North Shore.

The day started with really slow surfing, 2 to 3 feet in certain spots.

As the day progressed,

the new North, Northwest swell started to show and by the end of the day

there was some solid 6 to 8 feet (hawaiian) sets and picking up.

Conditions were a bit choppy all day long due to very strong East winds.

Bouy 50001 is showing a solid swell with 9.8 feet, 16 seconds at 7 p.m. reading.

It should still be good through tomorrow.

The Vans Triple Crown of Surfing is set to start this Saturday, November 12

at Haleiwa's Ali'i Beach Park with the opening rounds of competition

for the Op Pro Hawaii men's and Roxy Pro Hawaii women's competitions.

The 2005 Vans Triple Crown of Surfing events are schedule as:

1. Op Pro Hawaii/Roxy Pro Hawaii - Haleiwa Ali'i Beach Park, November 12-24

2. O'Neill World Cup of Surfing/O'Neill Sunset Challenge for Women -
Sunset Beach, November 26-December 6

3. Rip Curl Pro Pipeline Masters/Billabong Pro Maui Women's - Pipeline (men),
Honolua Bay Maui (women), December 8-20.
