8 to 12 feet on the second day of the O'Neill World Cup at Sunset
The second day of the O'Neill World Cup at Sunset beach started
with a solid North, Northeast swell, 10 to 12 feet (Hawaii scale) and pretty good conditions.
As the day progressed the swell picked up and turned more Northeasterly directions
having giant, wash through sets, mushy outside and reforming nicely on the inside.
Local surfer Makua Rothman was again a standout today, posting a 15.76 point total in the fourth round
Kauai's own Bruce Irons remembering last year winning at the Eddie
Californian Shane Beshen, now a permanent North Shore resident had a strong surf out there
This swell is supposed to pick up through tonight into tomorrow,
still not the best swell direction, but
contest should continuous surfing conditions permitting.

O'Neilll Sunset Challenge for Women,
an invitational event with $10,000, with no points for the ASP ratings.
